USES & TIPS!
There are many uses for the SATIN Stitch Foot! It is most commonly used for decorative stitching or for sewing on satin stitches (which are great filler stitches for embroidery!)
Amazing for adding appliques (decorative shapes added to base fabric) to create interesting and layered designs. These are best sewn on using satin stitching to enclose the raw edges for smooth finishes.
Great for attaching ribbons or narrow trims – The groove under the foot provides a channel so that the ribbons can pass through freely, and also serves as a guide to help the ribbons stay in place as you sew.
Helps to attach narrow elastic to fabric – The groove under the foot provides a nice guide to hold the elastic in place while sewing. Mark the stitching line with a fabric marker and select a zig zag or triple zig zag stitch. Set the width so that it is wide enough to cover the width of the elastic.
